New Waterside Landmark: Kaifort Completes Park Tensile Membrane Canopy

Kaifort is pleased to announce the successful completion and public opening of the Tensile Membrane Landscape Shade the Waterside Park. This uniquely shaped white canopy, with its elegant curves and practical function, has quickly become a new park landmark, attracting numerous residents and visitors to enjoy its shade and scenery.

Project Background

The Waterside Park is a key recreational area for the community. Its existing rest facilities were simple and lacked distinctive sheltered spaces with landscape appeal. The park management sought to add a shade structure that combined aesthetic value with practical function to enhance the visitor experience without disrupting the overall landscape.

After thorough evaluation, the park selected a Membrane Structure Landscape solution and appointed Kaifort for the design and construction. The project site is in an open, waterfront area of with excellent views, requiring a structure with careful consideration of form and proportion.

Design Concept

Drawing inspiration from the natural setting, Kaifort’s design team developed the “spreading wings” concept. The Tensile Membrane Landscape Shade features a cantilevered structure supported by a central mast, with the membrane elegantly extending to both sides, resembling a white bird about to take flight. This dynamic form echoes the openness of the water and sky.

Structurally, engineers conducted detailed wind load analysis to optimize the support system. The diameter and thickness of the central mast were precisely calculated to withstand various loads on the membrane. The cable layout was refined create a smooth, visually optimal curved surface.

Materials and Construction

The project uses high-quality PVDF architectural membrane fabric. Its pristine white color harmonizes with the park setting. The fabric offers excellent weather resistance, maintaining its color over time. The steel structure is hot-dip galvanized and coated with white fluorocarbon paint to resist corrosion in the humid waterfront environment.

Construction followed a well-planned schedule. Foundation work ensured a solid base for the central mast. Steel components were prefabricated and assembled on-site, improving precision and efficiency. Membrane installation was scheduled for low-wind conditions, with a professional tensioning team meticulously shaping the fabric to ensure a smooth, evenly tensionedSite Management

As the park remained open during construction, site management was a priority. The work area was clearly fenced with safety signage, and materials were stored neatly. Major lifting operations were scheduled during periods of lower visitor traffic to minimize disruption.

Quality control was integrated throughout the process. Each construction phase was inspected before proceeding. Technicians monitored tension data in real-time during membrane installation to ensure it met design specifications. Upon final inspection, the Tensile Membrane Landscape Rain Cover met all quality standards excellently.

Outcome and Reception

Since its opening, the canopy has received widespread praise from the public. The shaded area beneath has become one of the park’s most popular rest spots, where visitors enjoy the water views and relax. Park management reports that the Tensile Membrane Landscape Shade is both functional and enhances the park’s overall aesthetic quality.

This project demonstrates Kaifort’s professional capabilities in park landscape construction. The company remains committed to providing high-quality Membrane Structure Landscape solutions for more public spaces.
