Kaifort Membrane Structure Entrance & Exit Project

I. Project Introduction: Kaifort Membrane Structure Entrance & Exit Project
This project is the Membrane Structure Entrance & Exit Engineering for Zhanjiang Cultural Expo Park, undertaken in its entirety by Kaifort Membrane Structure Factory, covering design, production, and construction. Centered on the core design concept of “cultural heritage + modern architectural lightness”, the project adopts a combination of steel structure main body + high-strength PVDF membrane material to create an integrated entrance and exit system that includes membrane structure sunshades, tensile membrane landscape canopies, and tensile membrane awnings. With a total area of approximately 320 square meters, the project was officially completed and delivered in December 2025.
Design Concept and Technical Highlights
- Cultural Integration and Space CreationRooted in the profound cultural heritage of the expo park, the project adopts a pyramid-shaped tensile membrane structure in its form. Rigid geometric lines echo the sense of strength of cultural buildings, while the light and transparent texture of the membrane material dissolves the heaviness and oppression of traditional steel structures, creating a visual effect of “combining rigidity and flexibility”. The pure white membrane surface shines brightly in the sunlight, harmonizing with the park’s cultural exhibits, modern architecture, and coastal landscape. It not only meets the practical needs of sunshade and rain shelter at the entrance and exit but also serves as an iconic landscape node of the park.
- Core Materials and Structural Advantages
- Main Steel Structure: Made of Q355B low-alloy high-strength steel, treated with hot-dip galvanizing for corrosion resistance, with a designed service life of ≥50 years. It can withstand Category 12 typhoons and salt spray corrosion in coastal areas. The structural mechanical performance is optimized through finite element analysis to ensure uniform load distribution and excellent stability.
- PVDF Membrane Material: Imported high-strength PVDF-coated polyester fiber membrane material with a thickness of 1.0mm, tensile strength ≥4000N/5cm, excellent self-cleaning properties, and resistance to UV rays, weathering, and flame retardancy (Class B1). It has a service life of 15-20 years, effectively solving material aging problems in high-humidity and strong-sunlight coastal environments.
- Tensioning Process: Pre-tensioning technology is adopted, with uniform membrane surface tension distributed in the range of 3-5kN/m, avoiding membrane slack, water accumulation, and snow accumulation. At the same time, precise node design realizes seamless connection between membrane material and steel structure, ensuring the overall mechanical performance of the structure.
- Function and Scene Adaptation
- Sunshade and Rain Shelter: The combined design of membrane structure sunshades and tensile membrane awnings completely covers the entrance and exit passages, effectively blocking more than 90% of ultraviolet rays, reducing the passage temperature by 5-8°C in summer, and achieving leak-proof protection in the rainy season, improving the comfort of visitor passage.
- Landscape Empowerment: The tensile membrane landscape canopy, with its unique geometric shape, becomes the visual focus of the park. Cooperating with lighting design at night, it can present a dreamy and transparent light and shadow effect, becoming a popular check-in spot in the cultural expo park.
- Safety Guarantee: Both the steel structure and membrane material comply with national building safety codes, meeting flame retardant, wind-resistant, and seismic performance standards. Meanwhile, the moderate light transmittance of the membrane material avoids overly dark or strong light in the passage, ensuring safe passage.
